Rocky Patel Special Edition

Exclusive Brand for Select Tobacconists

For the Rocky Patel Special Edition, Rocky has unveiled a unique blend of small batch tobaccos creating a medium-bodied union of complex smoke. Each draw radiates notes of roasted coffee beans and chocolate behind an underlying nuttiness. Rocky Special Edition is crafted by the advanced rollers at Rocky's boutique Nicaraguan factory called TaviCusa. The 93-rated Rocky Patel Special Edition is an exclusive brand found only at select tobacconists nationwide.

Rocky Patel Fifty-Five

The Rocky Patel Fifty-Five cigar was created to celebrate Rocky Patel's 55th birthday. All the cigars in the Fifty-Five brand feature the same ring gauge:55, in different lengths. It is a medium-to-full body cigar and is very rich and pleasant. A rich and complex blend

Kaleidos Winery

This project came about after Steve Martell, owner, winemaker and winegrower for Kaleidos, spent time working for both Clos Pepe Vineyards in Santa Rita Hills and Summerwood Winery here in Paso Robles. He learned much from winemakers like Wes Hagan and Scott Hawley, and ultimately decided to forge his own path. Steve bought 24 acres of beautiful westside Paso Robles property in 2004, parked his Airstream trailer and rolled up his sleeves. He has planted about 2500 vines on a little more than an acre and has five more acres to cover.

The Kaleidos label is named for a shop Steve's mother had when he was young, where she sold Kaleidoscopes and other works of art. The name resonates with him personally, but also relates directly to his wines. As the light and colors of a kaleidoscope come together to create unique images, the vines here combine the elements of soil and sunlight to develop distinctive fruit characteristics. Read More.

Gilberto Oliva Reserva Blancgilberto stick2

Just Released!

Coming from the famous Oliva family in Nicaragua, it will be no surprise when the Gilberto Oliva Reserva Blanc turns out to be one of the finest Connecticut wrapped cigars that you have ever smoked. A rich combination of premium long-filler tobaccos from Ecuador and Nicaragua complete this luxurious recipe named for Oliva's family patriarch. A buttery smoothness and rich medium body flavors of toasted almonds, cedar, sweet cream, and spice reward the palate with every fragrant puff.

Oliva Serie V Melanio

2014 Cigar of the Year, Rated 96 Cigar Aficionado

One look at the sharply pressed corners and carefully curved head and foot of the Oliva Serie V Melanio tells you this is no ordinary cigar. The Nicaraguan smoke represents the pinnacle of achievement for Oliva Cigar Co. The Oliva Cigar story began in the late 1800s, when Melanio Oliva started growing cigar tobacco in Cuba. His heirs carried on the family tradition in the fields, but it was his grandson Gilberto Oliva Sr. who began making cigars. As with so many cigar stories, Gilberto Oliva Sr. faced a difficult road. He left his native Cuba in 1964, and eventually started working for the Plasencia family in Honduras. In 1995 he and his son Gilberto Jr. created a cigar within Plasencia's factory called Gilberto Oliva. A year later, they set out to open a factory of their own, and shortened their brand name to Oliva. Business was tough in those days, and Oliva struggled. Faced with dwindling reserves of cash, in a cost-cutting move they turned to Gilberto Sr.'s robusto stocks of Nicaraguan tobacco, which changed the flavor profile of Oliva cigars at a time when the interest in Nicaraguan flavor was increasing. Nicaraguan tobacco helped Oliva survive. The cigar that brought it to attention of connoisseurs debuted in 2006: Oliva Serie V. Made by a small group of rollers and blended for strength and style, the Serie V line was an immediate hit. In 2012, to pay tribute to the first man in the family to grow cigar tobacco, Oliva added the Melanio version, which is distinguished from the original by its Sumatra-seed wrapper grown in Ecuador.

Rated 96, Cigar Aficionado: "The Oliva Serie V Melanio has rich, big notes of leather framed by a range of coffee, caramel and woody intonations. It's a classic smoke."

 Michael Rose CellarsMichaelRose

Michael and Rose Jones started their journey to join the winemaking family in 2006. We packed up the family and moved to sunny San Miguel, California located just north of Paso Robles in the heart of the central coast wine country. After 5 years of having fun making wine, we have embarked on the second leg of our journey, the process of getting bonded to make and sell wine. Michael Rose Cellars specializes in hand crafted, small lot, estate grown wines. We strive to grow our fruit using organic practices, handpicking and sorting by the caring hands of Michael and Rose Jones. We strive for hearty full-bodied reds and crisp, bright, delicate sparkling wines.

URGENT: Write the FDA

June 5, 2017

The FDA is trying to smother the handmade cigar industry. We need your help. WRITE TODAY!

The Food and Drug Administration is making it harder and harder for family-owned, handmade cigar companies to produce and sell their products. The new rules are unnecessary and highly political, and they will drive companies out of business, leaving you with fewer choices in your humidor, changing the cigar industry forever.

It needs to stop.

Write the new FDA commissioner, Dr. Scott Gottlieb, and President Donald Trump. Let them know how you feel. Tell them handmade cigars deserve an exemption from FDA control. It's time to deregulate the handmade cigar industry and let this small, artisanal and venerable business continue without government interference.

Copy-and-paste this sample letter and let your voice be heard.

I am protesting the FDA's over-regulation of the handmade cigar industry. Keep this family owned and artisanal industry intact and leave handmade cigars alone.
